EngineAI Robotics announced the opening of a new factory in China to produce the first batch of its T800 humanoid robots. The company said the new EngineAI Intelligent Manufacturing Base in Shenzhen can make a new humanoid robot every 15 minutes.
“From the first test machine in 2024, to the small-scale production of hundreds of PM01 units in 2025, and now to the qualitative leap towards a 10,000-unit delivery capability, we are entering a new phase of industrialization and commercialization,” founder and CEO Zhao Tongyang said in a statement.
“We have made the leap from pilot production to mass manufacturing, from zero to scale, by building a manufacturing system with quality, efficiency and intelligent production at its core.
“Intelligent Production” will be built on a large scale
The new 129,000 square-feet facility is designed to support the complete production process, from component inspection and assembly testing through final integration, quality validation, shipping and maintenance support, the company said.
To improve production efficiency and to standardize production processes, the company has increased the use of automated manufacturing equipment including systems for assembly, bonding and laser welding.
EngineAI said its quality-control system, which accompanies the automated manufacturing processes, involves strict screening of components, digital tracking that allows individual parts and finished robots to be traced throughout production, and “rigorous testing.
” The company said each robot undergoes 79 quality inspections and 46 tests simulating operating conditions before delivery.
The T800 Humanoid Robot
The T800 is EngineAI’s full-sized humanoid robot with higher payload capacity for industrial environments. EngineAI announced global registration for its Ultimate Robot Knock-out Legend competition in April, a humanoid robot competition that will use the company’s T800 humanoid robot as a standardized platform to judge motion control, balance and decision-making.
“Together, these facilities will collaborate to better allocate capacity and respond to the market faster, creating a more efficient foundation for future global growth as our intelligent manufacturing network expands across Shenzhen, Henan and beyond,” added co-founder Ren Guowen.
Founded in late 2023, EngineAI has developed a portfolio including the SA01, SE01, PM01 and T800 humanoid robots, while developing its own robotic components, motion-control technologies and AI systems in-house.
