Sierra, the AI customer service agent company founded by Bret Taylor and Clay Bavor, has acquired Fragment, a Y Combinator-backed French startup specializing in AI workflow integration. Fragment’s co-founders, Olivier Moindrot and Guillaume Genthial, will join Sierra’s team, enhancing its agent development operations in France.

This acquisition is Sierra’s third in 2026, following the purchases of Japan-based enterprise AI firm Opera Tech and voice agent company Receptive AI, both announced in late March. Financial details of the Fragment deal were not disclosed. Fragment had previously raised approximately $2 million in a seed funding round, according to PitchBook.

Bret Taylor, who also serves as chair of OpenAI’s board, co-founded Sierra in 2023 after stepping down as co-CEO of Salesforce. Sierra’s customer roster includes notable companies such as Casper, Clear, and Brex. The startup has raised over $630 million, with a valuation of $10 billion, positioning it as a major player in the AI-driven customer service space.
